Sustained Crisis Support
When a school community experiences loss, educators, counselors, and leaders face the dual challenge of managing a crisis while safeguarding the mental and emotional health of their school community.
The Sustained Crisis Support Program will launch in two phases, phase one will include Grief Readiness Trainings, available for educators in any job classification. Registration for trainings is open now, see details below. Phase two will include Sustained Crisis Support packages, tailored to meet the needs of your staff and school community. Support packages will be available in early Spring 2027.
Grief Readiness Trainings
Cultivating Care: Foundations of School and Workplace grief readiness
Facilitated by Dr. Leora Wolf-Prusan, the Program Director for the Staff and Student Wellbeing stream at the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS), this interactive training series prepares Oregon school administrators, educators, and support staff to move beyond short-term crisis response and build lasting cultures of dignity, belonging, safety, and well-being.
Tailored for educators, the sessions offer practical frameworks to support frontline teachers, counselors, and staff experiencing burnout, secondary trauma, vicarious compassion fatigue, and moral injury during times of grief.
By the end of the series, participants will be able to:
Examine how grief readiness intersects with and informs educator health and wellness
Identify conditions and school climate indicators that can be strengthened to improve our responses to loss
Identify leadership, supervision, or organizational practices that support grief-informed school leadership
Review the training dates below and register for one or all three sessions. Space is limited so don’t miss out!
